More power, more efficiency, more MINI. Now the line-up of the new MINI is being enlarged – and enhanced – by two particularly economical variants:

With its 70 kW/95 hp 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, the new MINI One is entering the market as the “basic” version in the range and will be on view to the world public for the first time at the International Motor Show in Geneva on 8th March, 2007. The new MINI Cooper D will also be making its appearance on the same occasion, boasting a 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel developing maximum of 80 kW/110 hp and peak torque of 240 Newton-metres or 177 lb ft at between 1,750 and 2,000 rpm, with a further brief increase through Overboost to 260 Newton-metres or 192 lb-ft. Clearly, this gives the new MINI Cooper D a level of power and muscle truly unique in this category. The all-new power units featured in the MINI One and MINI Cooper D provide the option of combining the unique driving fun of this compact front-wheel-drive model with exceptionally efficient fuel economy and emission control.

As a result, the connoisseur is now able to enjoy the flair and driving pleasure of the new MINI under particularly economical conditions. With these new models entering the market, the one and only premium car in the small model segment is becoming even more attractive and versatile as of April 2007.

Get the racing feeling: the John Cooper Works tuning kit for the new MINI Cooper S

The international automobile salon in Geneva (8. to 18. March 2007) is scene for the world premiere John of the Cooper Works Tuning kit for the MINI Cooper S.

Mitte 2007 gets the anyway already strongest variant of the compact Premium models thereby now additional steam under the hood. With John Cooper Works Tuning kit for the MINI Cooper S the achievement 1.6 litres of the large twin Scroll turbo engine on impressive 141 kW/192 HP one increases and the maximum torque within the range between 1,750 and 5,000 routes is increased to 250 Newtonmeters.

By the Overboost function the torque can be raised with strong accelerating at short notice and in the speed range of 1,750 to 4,500 min-1 even to 270 Nm. Beyond that the mark MINI for the fans of the new MINI Cooper S has still further John Cooper Works components in the offer, which accelerate the pulse and into everyday life traffic bring passionate Racing Feeling.

In addition one sport chassis, punched brake disks for the front axle of the MINI Cooper S as well as 18 tariff light alloy wheels belong. Ideally to combine these options with numerous further offers from John Cooper Works accessories program, which supports the sport spirit, leave themselves.

After the M&M run (Episode 14) several of the Mini and Miata owners made their way to Huffaker Engineering at Infineon Raceway, to enjoy an exclusive look at Joe’s facility and meet with his staff for great stories of racing history and a sneak peak at one of the leading fabricators of the racing circuit. We saw Joe’s #77 Mini in some of the earlier episodes, so it was a real treat to meet the man behind the scenes and hear him speak candidly about his family’s wonderful racing history. This short podcast has some of that tale edited and posted here for your enjoyment! Sorry some of the edits are a bit rough :(
