BMW Group prepares for trials with electric MINI

[07/10/2008 Press release - Munich - BMW Group prepares for technical field trials with electric vehicles.]
Synopsis: As part of the Group’s Number ONE strategy, the company will begin extensive tests on electric drives in MINI vehicles.

Over the next months, the BMW Group will be carrying out various series of tests on electrically powered vehicles to determine the alternative drive of the future. Several hundred MINI brand vehicles are being prepared for this. The cars, built in the Oxford plant, will be modified accordingly in Munich and fitted out for trials.

If you have not yet registered for the Magical Mystery Mini Tour you should do that now. We are ordering the Swag, dinners, & programs and want to be sure we don’t come up short.

Also, the group hotel packages for the Magical Mystery Mini Tour in San Francisco have expired July 5th. If you plan to come and have not yet made reservations, well, best of luck finding some! :)
