MINI, the small car with the undeniably big attitude has completed a feat of engineering ingenuity. A MINI was spotted this weekend driving on Abu Dhabi’s Corniche as fans and motor sport enthusiasts were gearing up for the first ever Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

As hundreds of tourists and residents gathered on Abu Dhabi’s Corniche they were obviously stunned to see a MINI Cooper traversing through the pristine blue waters only to leave tracks of white water in its wake. The sight of this MINI made the sunny yet breezy afternoon all the more enjoyable. With its sleek minimalist exterior and curves in all the right places, nobody would have guessed that MINI’s next exploit would be driving on water.

Speaking about the initiative Arno Husselmann, General Manager of Abu Dhabi Motors said: “This is an exciting project that Abu Dhabi Motors has been working on for quite some time now. The ‘MINI on Water’ concept vehicle has opened the doors to the infinite possibilities of what this small car can do. Continually setting itself apart through its unique interpretation of style and creativity, MINI remains a car with substance in abundance.”

The MINI on Water activity is part of a week-long integrated competition entitled, “Find A MINI” where MINI has been hiding in five secret locations across the UAE’s capital, challenging residents to find it to win a MINI for a weekend and cool MINI merchandise.
