MINI THUNDER JUST AROUND THE CORNER!

mini-thunder-viiHello Everyone,

MINI Thunder VII is just around the corner, we wanted to make a few announcements.

First of all we have extended the use of SA 2005 rated helmets through 2016, of if you have a SA 2005 or newer you are good to go.
There will be helmet rentals available at the Thunderhill Souvenier Shop at the track.

PS: Chris @ Miniology has a white Arai profile (M size, full face, oval head shape) helmet for sale $300 obo, message me if interested and I will send you pics or info about it. It’s in very good almost new condition!

If you plan to join us for our Pre-Registration dinner and Casino Night Party at the Willows Roadhouse please RSVP via return email with the number in your party. We plan to close the Roadhouse for MINI Thunder participants only and need a head count to plan for food.

ATM Machine is located inside the clubhouse at Thunderhill.

If you have not yet registered, you need to do that ASAP.  go to msreg.com/minithunder7.

Please be sure to clean out your car COMPLETELY. We don’t want any foreign objects like cell phones, garage door openers, old beer cans, etc. rolling around in your Mini while you are out on track.

NO Hand-held cameras in any of the cars. All cameras must be securely mounted. This includes passengers.

Keep your hands and arms inside your car at all times, unless you are doing a wave/point by.

When you register you will be given your Goody Bag which will include your wrist band, lunch ticket, T-Shirt, group sticker, and event window sticker. You will need to put on your wrist band before you leave registration. Please have your Pre-Tech Inspection Forms filled out and signed as you get to registration. Do loose your lunch ticket as you will need it to get lunch!

Looking forward to a fun and safe day.

MINI Thunder VII Updates

mini-thunder-viiMINI Thunder VII Updates.

First off it is now 2016 and MINI Thunder VII is just around the corner.

We ask all coaches to please register at msreg.com/minithunder7. We need to have valid numbers for coaching duties, t-shirts & sizes, lunches, and
scheduling. It only takes a minute or two

Secondly for those that are already registered as participants, you need to
start thinking about getting your Mini pre-teched. We have set up several
safety-tech inspection stations. These are FREE for the inspection. We ask
that you call first and make an appointment. This year we are asking that
you make sure your Mini is fitted with a tow hook. You should have one in
your MINI but if not, please get one and make sure it is installed before
you go out on track. This will save precious time and make it easy and
painless to get you Mini back to the paddock should you run into any
troubles.

One change we have made for this year is holding the pre-registration dinner and Casino Night Party into town. We will be holding this activity at the Willows Roadhouse 610 South Tehama, Willows, CA 530-361-9180. The party is free to all participants and coaches. Dinner is $20 ea. and you will need to pay at the door. We will be posting the menu shortly. Having these
festivities at the Roadhouse will help eliminate the rush and crowding at
the clubhouse at Thunderhill. We will be able to set up much earlier in the
day and open registration about 4:00PM.

We will gain have the vendor tables with donated prizes for the Casino
Night.

For those of you that plan to come, please be sure to register now.
Msreg.com/minithunder7

Also we welcome guests and MINI owner spectators for both the Casino Night and Sunday’s trackday. Its free to the fans and they will get to take
demo-hot laps with coaches, parade laps at lunch, and be included in the
group photo at the start/finish line on the main straight. So bring your
friends.

We have several extras planned for the weekend and we will keep you posted (also check the facebook group).

Our Prime Presenting Sponsor is Niello MINI of Sacramento. A big thanks goes out for their ongoing support of MINI Thunder and the Mini community. Niello has supported us from the very first day and we could not have done this without their help.

Miniology site impacted by plugin vulnerability

Hacked? Us?

You may have noticed our recent blog entries had some goofy “Support WordPress” footer text with links to pharma/med sites. This was a result of one of our plugins that had a code vulnerability which was exploited by a bot, in simple terms, someone got a bit of free advertising out of us until it was fixed.

Many thanks to Ian (GBMINI) for taking the time to point out the anomaly, which we were then able to address and fix last night.

What was it?

This exploit was simply a spamvertising bot that added a few links to our footer (which happened to be displayed at the end of each post).

Some 94 php files were tagged and fixed by Wordfence (one of our security plug-ins), the other php files were pruned manually by our team of super-hawt hacker geeks that take care of such things for us. 😉

Nobody’s info was compromised, heck, we can barely keep track of our own email addresses, skype ID’s and phone numbers offline, let alone storing anything of yours on the site (which we don’t!)

If you’ve used the online store (ExpressionGraphix is on hiatus, btw) or sent comments to us, none of that information was shared with anyone outside of Miniology staff.

However, now all is well again, and we’ve locked down the site with fresh updates to the core files, as well deployed an even stronger CAPTCHA challenge routine, just because, you know, we like to keep up on that sort of thing.

Thanks for your attention, sorry for any inconvenience, and motor on!
