WHERE is 49931?
Well it is only a short ride west of St. Ignace, north of Wausau, and east of Minneapolis, at the other end of the U.P.
A trip there is a wonderful opportunity to see the UP, enjoy driving on 2 lane roads and letting your MINI enjoy a great workout. Get off the X-ways and CRUISE.
Houghton is located in the Keweenaw Peninsula a land of two lane roads with twists and turns the likes of nor found in lower Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, or Minnesota.
Keith took a ride in his Black/Liquid Yellow MINI just last this week. Toured up to the tip of the Keweenaw and back. One stretch had 50 curves in 9 miles! And the entire drive was a covered road! Another stretch was 30 curves in 5 miles of uphill climbing (of course you could do this backwards and go downhill). Overall the twisty roads I covered included 220 curves in just 60 miles, and there are more.
GIVE YOUR COOPER A TREAT AND LET IT DO WHAT IT WAS INTENDED TO DO—TURN!
Once again, GET OFF THE EXPRESSWAY!
Ps: If you cannot find 49931, or Houghton, MI or the Keweenaw Peninsula, just follow the US41 to the north end–then come back south 47 miles and you will have arrived.
Any Miniologists attending please drop the Miniology crew a note or post/share pics and videos to our Facebook or G+ page, we would love to see them!
