May 6, 2007 (Sunday): Milwaukee MINI “Drive The Mile” The Milwaukee Mile, West Allis WI Time: 9:00AM Join us for the DRIVE THE MILE event with the opportunity to drive 3 laps around the Milwaukee Mile! Last year the MINIS had the largest car club contingent there with 26 MINIS – let’s make it even larger this time around!
ADMISSION: Pre-register for a fee of $10 per driver, or pay $15 the day of the drive. Passengers ride for free, and two non-perishable food items (per vehicle) are requested for the Hunger Task Force collection.
Complete the Registration Form and return directly to The Milwaukee Mile. Be sure to note that you are part of the Milwaukee MINIS and heard about it through the Club. Even though the deadline says April 12th, we have official permission to push the deadline back to April 17th. Once you mail in your registration form, then email Pat to let him know that you are attending at biggpat0@yahoo.com. This year you can’t be late in mailing in your taxes, or your Drive the Mile registration!
MEETING SPOT: Ignore the specific gate information that will be sent to you by The Milwaukee Mile once you register. Instead, plan to meet at 9 am in the Walgreens parking lot across from The Milwaukee Mile at the corner of Greenfield Avenue and 84th Street in West Allis, WI. From there, Pat P. & Dustin E. will be taking the lead on organizing everyone to drive onto the track together.

May 12, 2007 Milwaukee MINIs Car Control Clinic Saturday May 12, 2007 at 8:00 am Location: State Fair Park in West Allis, WI Last year several Milwaukee MINI members took part in the Car Control Clinic presented by the Badger Bimmers, and we highly recommend this opportunity to anyone that missed it. Take the class if you want to have fun spinning your car out of control and more importantly, learning to bring it back into control! Take the class if you want to learn accident avoidance!
If you have a young driver in the family, be sure to sign them up with you so that they can learn how to be a better driver in a safe environment! This is a very comfortable experience for everyone, no matter what your experience level may be.
What to Expect
• Plan to arrive at 8:00 am to check in. Teaching session begins at 8:30 am sharp.
• The day consists of a combination of classroom sessions and driving exercises. These are designed to teach participants to understand some of the physics of driving and to teach participants how to respond in critical situations.
• Instructors will be with you throughout the day. They will conduct the important classroom sessions and guide you during the exercises.
• Participation in this event will not hurt your car nor will it void any warranty or insurance you have on your car.
• We will put on this event in the rain or in sunshine.
• The price is $25 with lunch included with that price

June 2, 2007 (Saturday) Mini Mania Spring is just around the corner and that means it’s time to mark your calendars to join us for our 6th Annual Nevada City Adventure Open House, Saturday June 2nd, 8am to 4pm. Some of the events planned include a swap meet, car show, prizes, and of course, great deals on the latest and coolest merchandise! Also this year we will be featuring our “DO-IT-YOURSELF” Install sessions and product demos.
We are excited and look forward to seeing you at this year’s Nevada City Adventure and sharing some fun in the sun in the beautiful Sierra Nevada Foothills, and to show off our new showroom and refurbished warehouse.

June 8 – 10, 2007 Golden Gate Austin Healey Club of Northern California’s Annual Open Roads 2007 British Car Weekend at Tahoe. SUNNYVALE CA (January 15, 2007) – Registration for the Open Roads 2007 British Car Weekend at Tahoe is now open. The meet is hosted by the Golden Gate Austin Healey Club of northern California. Registration forms are available at the club’s web site http://www.goldengatehealeys.com.
Open Roads 2007 welcomes all owners and enthusiasts of British cars of all makes. It will be held Friday June 8 – 10, 2007 at the Horizon Casino and Resort at Stateline NV on the south shore of Lake Tahoe. The event will start Friday June 8, 2007 with check-in and evening reception. On Saturday, June 9, there will be a day of tours and autocrossing, followed by an awards event in the evening. On Sunday morning June 10 there will be a morning car show and awards ceremony followed by departure early that afternoon.
A registration fee of $50 covers one car and two adults. Additional adults are $20 each; additional cars $20. There is no charge for children under 15. There is a $30 charge to participate in an unlimited number of autocross runs. Award dinners are priced at $48 each person. Double rooms will be available at the Horizon at a special rate of $97 per night (single or double); $107 (triple occupancy) and $117 (four). Taxes are not included. Registrants must have a registration number issued by the Golden Gate Austin Healey Club to obtain this special rate.

June 9-15, 2007 : NEMINI (Northeast MINIs) The GREAT Ice Cream Run The “Blue MINI Crew” from Northeast MINIs (NEMINI) invites you to join us. The place: Sanford, FL to Bar Harbor, ME
They will travel from Sanford, FL to Bar Harbor, ME over the course of 7 days. Along the way we’ll hit as many ice cream shops as your stomach can handle, plus a few other interesting stops to be announced later. The run will be similar to MTTS. For each leg, registered participants will receive route sheets for a quick and easy interstate highway route, as well as a more back road (and hopefully more scenic) “alternate” route. Choose the route you prefer and travel at your own pace. Go in a group or go alone. The choice is entirely yours.

June 15-17, 2007: REME 2007 MINI Mountain Tour Part 1- 2nd Annual Shasta Run – We will be staying at the Best Western Tree House Inn in Mount Shasta. The run will take us north to Yreka and out highway 96 winding along the picturesque Klamath River. We will then turn south at Scott River Valley to Fort Jones. Then returning to Mt. Shasta. We will have an optional run to Castle Crags Saturday afternoon. Then a catered BBQ dinner at Bunny Flat (7000 ft.) at sunset. Beautiful views, especially at sunset. Sunday will take us out to Gazelle and near Calhoun, heading south along the Trinity River and Trinity Lake. We will stop at the vista point at the Trinity Dam, through Lewiston and then east on highway 299, before heading to the Shasta Dam for a tour. July 4, 2007 (Wednesday): Milwaukee MINIs Fourth of July Parade Location: TWO Locations Racine WI & Wauwatosa, WI Due to the overwhelming success in 2006 with the Wauwatosa Fourth of July Parade, we have decided to participate in not one, but TWO parades in 2007 with the hopes that each member will participate in the parade closest to their starting point. Each parade requests that we have no more than 20 cars in a unit.
Help us promote the Milwaukee MINIS and show off your red, white & blue spirit by driving with the Milwaukee MINIS in the Wauwatosa Fourth of July Parade! The parade steps off at 9 am – FREE for all to participate but everyone is responsible for supplying their own candy to toss. The parade route is 2 miles, and one of the most attended and most patriotic communities in Wisconsin. Afterwards, for those interested, we will be grabbing lunch together before we continue on our way home.

July 7, 2007 (Saturday): NMMINI Annual Roswell UFO Festival parade. NMMINI has won first place in the motorized division the last three years in Roswell NM. The parade is a nighttime affair and loads of fun. Last year they choreographed some smooth moves, adding to the fun for them and the crowds along the parade route.
The whole Festival runs for about a week. They usually just drive down from Albuquerque on Saturday and visit locals, then decorate the cars. Sunday is spent on drives through the great New Mexico mountains. All MINIs and Minis invited!

August 31-September 2, 2007 HMMS Hill Country Mini Cooper Renzdevous, The Hill Country Rendezvous, a regional event with lots of participation from clubs all over Texas, is traditionally held on Labor Day weekend, beginning Friday evening and lasting through Sunday afternoon. Motor with some great company on some of the twistiest roads in Texas! 2007 will be the 5th year of this annual event that supports the Fredericksburg Academic Boosters. This event has not been officially announced for ’07, but is being posted here as a place-holder so MINIacs can pencil this in as a “must do” event.

What do you think of when you think of Milwaukee? Beer, Cheese, Brats, Bowling. Celebrate your MINI fun with a Taste of Milwaukee/Oddities of Milwaukee scavenger hunt! We will meet at 11am at the Observation Parking Lot at Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee for a pre-drive meeting and then cars will begin leaving at 11:15 am. We will be scrambled in different directions as we discover things even Milwaukee natives have only dreamt of, ending at a destination for lunch together. As you will have an opportunity to sample various tastes and activities of Milwaukee along the way to earn points for this venture, a nominal fee (TBD) per participant will be collected the morning of the run. Don’t miss out on this one-time event – it will truly be the talk of the town.
